About The Finnigans
Our Finnigan Family History

It was the Christmas Prom of 1989. I was a grade 10 student and he was in grade 12. I was there with someone and he was dancing with my best friend. He liked my smile. I liked how he danced. We both sent a flirtatious look to each other as the song ended. Time went by. February 16th weekend we hooked up and he asked me to go steady.
The next few years were filled with school, work, and adventures. We hung with family and friends. We loved to camp and go to the beach. We took a road trip to Edmonton. We started out living in a little house on Birch St. The house should have been condemned. Then we were off to the duplex on Brooks Ave.
On January 8th, 1994 He proposed to me after Christmas (I would have expected it at Christmas-he never do what is expected of him). He proposed in the rain. I love the rain. He proposed all day. Not really sure what made him become a sap.
September 24th, 1994- An exciting year with lots of fun! The year was filled with wedding showers and stags and a wedding at Cultus Lake. It was the third week of the month and 98*. The wedding was everything we could have wanted. It was filled with joy, family, friends, and fun. It was a great day. The honeymoon was 4 days at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel followed with a Caribbean Cruise in March 1995.
1997-We bought a house! Arlingtondr here we come. We bought a house with open rooms and a great big kitchen with a fabulous view of the mountains. It was 23 years old and a BC box but it was ours. We liked everything yet we have been remodelling ever since….funny how that works. We settled in to our life and took a cruise to Mexico before starting a family. This was the year we got pregnant…..and the family begins.
July 8, 1998 Jessica Rae comes into this world weighing 8lbs 12ozs at 9:10am. It was an incredible day. Delivery was not bad at all and we were happy. Uncle Duane made it in record time from UBC by cab and bus and sky train and another bus. Everyone was excited.
The next years are wonderful sharing in the joy of raising Jessica. Still we want more….
March 20, 2001 Derek Thomas makes his way to our world. After a difficult pregnancy and a 25 minute labour Derek arrived weighing 8lbs 5ozs at 6:25pm. I had to rest and was only allowed to see Jessica for a few minutes. But we were safe. It was a great day. We couldn’t be happier. Jessica took to her little brother right away.
Now in 2008 and in the same home, growing closer together everyday, we start new adventures.
